Manu Chao Honoring Maradona in Villa Fiorito: Touching Tribute
It is quite safe to say that a lot of Argentina’s fans are with the famous Spanish singer-songwriter, Manu Chao, who let them down recently. Forever loyal Chao fans will be thrilled at the sight of additional concerts in Córdoba and Rosario, as well as two in the Obras Stadium which sold out. However, the highlight of Chao’s trip occurred outside in the streets where he visited ‘Villa Fiorito,’ the area that Diego Armando Maradona calls home.
Villa Fiorito: The epicenter of Maradona’s life
Manu Chao once again reminds us who he is, and his legacy that features low-key warring elements and great fans. Here, performing live, he met and extended an invitation to the Argentine rapper Big Buda aka Rayo who helped invite another legend to assist stand out amongst the fearsome fielder featured at Obras that night. Ironically enough, the villa is quite sacred for Diego Maradona devotees, who have been adoring supporters of Manuel Chao from the start. ‘Santa Maradona’ and ‘La Vida Tómbola’ are two titles that have already been recorded by their peers.
While ‘Rayo’ Manco over simmers about visiting the rappers beautiful drama-filled life which he literally described as being heart stole and contained over 20 songs dedicated to his emotional family reunion, they eventually shift to the ‘pasture’ where they melodically pay their respect to Maradona. As a passionate creator himself, Manu Kasta Khala mortally revered Maradona and made a music video while in the pasture.
A Moment of Pause and Remembrance
Recalling the emotional encounter, Rayo narrated:
“From there we went to the pasture. He was very composed, very calm and collected. But at the same time he was also quite moved. He stepped back a little, seated himself comfortably and took video shots of the pasture in front of him. I could see that he was touched and that is priceless. ’’
This moment became even more emotional when Goyo Carrizo’s daughter appeared. Also, Diego’s first partnership and the friend who had introduced him to Argentinos Juniors. This particular area filled with excitement as the fans flocked around Manu Chao wanting to take selfies and videos with him. In the words of Rayo, Manu was “amazing and humane” which left a deep impression on all who happened to be in his presence on that day.

Later, Manu Chao posted on his social networks the video of this special moment and added a warm message to Rayo.
